These include: Tantrums; Defiance; Verbal and physical aggression (hitting, kicking, throwing, biting), arguing, refusing to listen, swearing, lying; Difficulties following instructions; Separation anxiety; Generalised anxiety and worries; Fears and phobias; Social anxiety/selective mutism; Difficulties falling and staying asleep/ reliance on a parent to sleep; Difficulties with feeding, ARFID (restricted eating); Low self-esteem/confidence; Low mood; Attention/concentration difficulties (ADD/ADHD); Sibling rivalry; Toilet training difficulties; Encopresis/ Enuresis (bedwetting and toileting accidents); School refusal/ avoidance; Anger management and general Family conflict. She also supports parents with adjustment to parenting and improving relationships in the home. Orit also has vast experience working in hospital and outpatient settings with children who experience Somatic complaints eg Headaches, Tummy aches, as well as a wide range of pain and medical diagnoses.

Every referring family is offered a set of assessment sessions- a meeting with the parent(s), and then a meeting with the child to examine the causes for concerns in the child. School teacher opinions and assessments can also be conducted if required.

Following the comprehensive assessment, parents receive a detailed Feedback session, where a formulation of the problem is given, ruling out significant childhood diagnoses.

An individualised treatment plan is written for each child seen, to help parents and children with the changes that they would like to make in their home. The family are then offered a course of therapy sessions, working closely with parents and where relevant the child, to improve the child’s emotional and behavioural wellbeing, leading to a happier and more functional home. Goals are set with the family to meet parental and child concerns, and are worked through until met.

Orit works flexibly with families to offer them the support they are looking for, and works closely with any professionals involved. Onward referrals can be made if other disciplines are considered a useful part of the child's treatment. Most families are able to receive the help they need within the 10 sessions of Medicare rebates per calendar year.
